This is how I see the four elements. I wanted to do them all in one picture since they so obviously belong together.

Fire is forever young, nothing we humans can will destroy or harm it. With every new flame it is born again. But even though it has nothing to fear from us, Fire has become weary and mistrusting. Not only has it seen how we treat the other three elements but most of the time we treat Fire as if it was our slave.

Unlike Fire, Earth is aged and tired. Since it can’t be reborn, the only way it will continue to be around to take care of us, is if we start to take better care of it in return.

Water and Air are siblings. Water is still glistening and shimmering, but perhaps not as much as it used to. And Air has become bruised and battered by the pollution we release into it.
Water is frightened, not knowing what the future will bring, and every day the ocean becomes a little more salty as Water cries.
Air is not so much scared as it is angry. If you listen, you'll hear Air just outside your window. Pressing against the walls. Wanting to know why we are doing this to them all.
