So, today was the day when I took the first splash (can't really call it a swim or bath) outdoors of the year. And was it ever frikkin cold or what!?
It wasn't even in the ocean, because it's way to early for that, but in a lake, and it was still only one degree above freezing. And this *wonderful* friend of mine decided that I was too slow about getting in the water, so he picked me up and jumped in. I'm still plotting my revenge as I write this. I stole his towel later on, but that just made him steal mine. But since my towel already was wet, I’m counting it as a half win.
Even though I covered myself from head to foot in sunblock, I'm still a stunning shade of pink, lol. At least it's not lobster red, been there, done that, screamed bloody murder when I turned over on my back in my sleep.
I don't tan, ever. (unless you count freckles as some sort of very localised tanning, lol) People are sometimes strange when I say that. It's like they're offended by my paleness, lol. Two out of three go like "I'm sure you're just doing it the wrong way" and try to give me all sorts of weird advice to get a tan going.
Come on people... just leave my pale/pink self alone. I think I know if I'm tanable or not by now.
What I don’t know is if “tanable” is a real word, but life can’t always be perfect.
Speaking of imperfections, now I need to go and collect my finished laundry. *sigh* I need a butler. I'd probably have killed myself from boredom if I was born a century or so ago. Housework is so not my thing. Or maybe I'd killed someone else with my cooking...
